| Car history: |
This is a very nice example of a previously owned vehicle but is likely not in perfect condition. This is a t/top car with removable rear window that is a one of a kind early 1970’s custom with a Marko Shark like style front end. This is an original 1970 Corvette with a numbers matching block. The block does match the car. It has GM performance angle plug heads that I was told was only an over the counter purchase from a franchised Chevrolet store in the 70’s. The casting number 3991492 with a stud girdle, roller rockers and a solid cam. It has an Edelbrock performer intake and a Holley 750 dp carb aluminum water pump, a fantastic radiator that keeps it running very cool. This engine has real Doug Thorley headers with a brand new exhaust system. The original distributor has been converted to electronic ignition. This car has been in storage for years and was recently refreshed. This is a very rare find and I have never seen anything like it. This is a very rare early 1970’s Kustom that was very well done on a special ordered 1970 Corvette with a Muncie 4 speed, I was told it was to be used as an autocross super car for a rich guy. The car has not had normal use for sure and has been stored in a climate controlled environment that has kept it clean, fresh and original like its been lost in a time warp and then refurbished with all new suspension and Bilstein shocks. This was a special factory ordered car to be used to race with the only option being power brakes. It has no other luxury options. No power steering, no air cond, etc. It has a very cool 1970s vintage aftermarket cassette player from a then new company named Sony. This is real high quality vintage Corvette with General Motors OEM high performance stuff over the counter from Chevrolet in the early 1970s. It has an Edelbrock performer intake and a Holley 750 dp carb aluminum water pump, a fantastic radiator that keeps it running very cool. The engine has real Doug Thorley headers with a brand new exhaust. This Corvette does have quite a bit of power and runs great but is quite a handful to drive. This is a real muscle car that also looks like a real muscle car. And you need some muscle to drive it. Back in the early 1970’s no expense was spared and a lot of time and money went into the custom front end which has relocated the headlights to below the bumper and the hideaway headlights have been done away with. It has vintage Carrello Italian European driving lights under the grill as the headlights as well as a custom hood that is like an L88 but is unique to this vehicle. This is in NO WAY a hack job on the fiberglass it was custom done in the 1970’s to be a (Marko Shark Manta Ray) like style. It even has a very cool 70’s vintage Can Am race car aluminum pop off gas cap that looks like it came off one of Jim Halls Chaparrals. The paint is fairly recent and quite nice in most spots but very few flaws. The biggest negative is a chip on where the headlights used to be. It has old school Ansen rims from the 70’s and in very good shape. Tires have lots of tread and are wide (275 60 15s rear...255 60 15 fronts) like any real Hot wheel. The odometer shows 15001. I cannot guarantee ACTUAL miles on a 39 year old automobile. Nobody can legaly as Federal Odometer Disclosure laws go back only 10 years to 1999. Anything sold with a 5 digit odometer that is older than 10 years is sold Exempt. The miles might or might not be actual. The car has brand new coil springs and a brand new leaf springs as well as brand new Bilstein shocks. It has a scatershield with a hefty, stiff clutch. I do not know what the brand of the clutch but can tell you it is a very high performance racing clutch that will build your left leg to body builder status. This stiff clutch is connected to a Muncie 4 speed transmission that I believe is the close ratio. I believe the gears are 3.31:1 but not for sure. It could be 3.23:1 and has a Posi rearend. The interior is all original and in great shape. All of the guages work (even the clock works sometime) and all of the guages look new very bright to read with no fading, the best way to descibe is they look brand new. The only real negative with the interior is a ½ inch tear in the drivers seat that is hard to see and very minor and a small crack in the center console wear you rest your elbow behind the emergency brake. The T/Tops work great as does the removable rear window, all open with ease and are still very tight. when the window is out and the T-tops are off this is as close to a convert as you will get.
All the lights, horn, crank windows with period Cal Kustom handles work great. It is missing the hide away wiper actualtor from under the hood and the heater core is inop. The modifications are of the period which is more difficult to find as is a all original car as most modified cars have long been wrecked and the trailer queens have always been kept under wraps. The overall condition of the exterior is in good condition with normal wear. The paint is in very good condition. The front bumper, The rear bumper, The tail lights, The hood is in good condition with normal wear. Custom Marko Shank Style. The roof, The trunk lid, The drivers side door, The passenger side door, The drivers front fender, The passenger front fender, The drivers quarter panel, The passenger quarter panel, The tires are in good condition with normal wear. They are BF Goodrich Radial TA. The fronts are 255/60/15 and rears are 275/60/15. There is a spare tire. The undercarriage, The glass are in good codition.
VEHICLE INTERIOR: The interior, The front seat are in good condition with normal wear. There is a small tear. The passenger seat, The carpeting, The headliner, the door panels, The dash, The steering wheel is in good condition with normal wear. Old school after market early 70's. The visors are in good condition. Has a vintage Sony cassette.
MECHANICAL CONDITION: The engine and transmission are in good operating condition. We have not detected any leaks of any kind. The 5.7 350 8 cylinder is in good operating condition. We have detected no leaks and the engine does not make any unusual noises. It runs at it should. The transmission shifts excellent. Has a short throw Hurst shifter. The vehicle operates at normal operating temperature with no overheating. The shocks on the vehicle are in good condition with normal wear. New Bilsteins!!! The exhaust system is in good condition with normal wear. New and in excellent condition!!! There is no frame damage or modifications. 115,002 miles. April 30, 2009. |
